Without volunteers like yourselves, the 4-H program would not be complete. This Page has tools which may prove helpful in your role in the 4-H Youth Development Program.

(Updated 11/20/09)  Please note that this list will be updated frequently.  If you believe your name has been omitted in error, please contact the 4-H Office.  We may be missing some of your paperwork or a necessary signature. 


 "Letters to New Leaders" Listed here are "Letters to New Leaders" introducing, to you, the 4-H program and some resources that are available for your use: 

Letter 1: What is 4-H?   First letter in the "Letters to New Leaders" Series

Letter 2: Getting started with a 4-H project   Recruiting, Enrollment, dues, insurance, meetings and project materials are subjects covered in this issue.

Letter 3: Planning & Conducting 4-H Club Meetings   Setting goals and agendas, planning calendars, working with officers and committees, parent involvment and club activities are some of the subjects covered.

Letter 4: Leadership and Teaching Techniques   Leadership and Teaching Styles, tips for working with kids and "100 Ways to Say 'Very Good'"

Letter 5: 4-H Activities   Club activities, recognition activities ,4-H member divisions, county activities, sectional and state activities

Letter 6: 4-H Records and Achievement Programs   4-H Record Books, incentives and awards and achievment programs.

Letter 7: Opportunities for Leaders  Junior and Teen Leaders, opportunities at the county, sectional, state and national level, and resources for 4-H Leaders are discussed in the final letter of the series.
