What is Children's Power Play! Campaign?
The Children's Power Play! Campaign is a statewide nutrition education program funded by the Network for a Healthy California through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Stamp Program. This Central Valley Region Campaign is administered by the University of California Cooperative Extension Office in Fresno. What does Power Play! do?
The Children's Power Play! Campaign encourages children and their families to eat at least 5 cups of fruits and vegetables and get 60 minutes of Power Play each day for better health! This encouragement is done through a variety of areas that we call channels, including:
- Community Youth Organizations (CYO's)
- Schools
- Farmers' Markets
- Retailers
- Food Services/Restaurants
- Media
Where do we work?
The Children's Power Play! Campaign works with low-income, food stamp eligible children ages 9 - 11.
